Your family's old movies, home videos, and photos aren't going anywhere — but neither is the equipment to play them. If the VCR is long gone and nobody has a slide projector, those tapes and reels are just taking up closet space. We convert them to modern digital files at our Eureka studio. No shipping, no outsourcing — you drop them off, we do the work in-house, and you pick everything up when it's done. We work with a limited number of jobs at a time, so every project gets our full attention.

The format most of us grew up recording on. Birthday parties, holidays, that one vacation where Dad wouldn't put the camera down — it's all on magnetic tape in a box somewhere. We digitize VHS and VHS-C cassettes to modern video files you can watch on any screen or share with family. No adapters needed on your end. Just bring the tapes to our Eureka studio and we'll handle the rest.

Mixtapes, interviews, oral histories, someone's band practice in 1987 — if it's on tape, we can capture it as clean digital audio. We handle standard cassettes and reel-to-reel, including the larger format tapes most places won't touch. If you've inherited a collection and have no idea what's on it, that's a perfectly good reason to get started.

Shoeboxes of slides and envelopes of negatives are some of the most common things people find when they're sorting through a family home. We scan at high resolution so you can actually see, organize, and share what's there. Works for prints too — if you've got photos you'd rather not trust to the mail, bring them by the studio in Eureka.

If someone in your family shot home movies between the 1950s and the 1980s, this is probably what you've got. Film transfers are where a lot of shops cut corners or ship your reels out of state. We do it in-house on a MovieStuff 2K telecine unit — a frame-by-frame scanner that captures detail you won't get from a projector-and-camera setup. Full 2K resolution, done right here in Humboldt County.
